What is a Private Notary in Dubai?
A Private Notary in the UAE is a licensed UAE lawyer who is officially approved by the Ministry of Justice or the Dubai Courts and is duly authorized to perform the notarial services. A Public Notary works inside a court, but a Private Notary can work more flexibly, with easier timings and more personalized service.
Under Federal Decree Law No. 20 of 2022, any document signed in front of a Private Notary has the same legal power as a document signed in front of a public notary. All these documents receive validation from all banks, courts and government agencies throughout the UAE.
